Bisson Delivered 794 lbs of Donated Food to The Good Shepherd Food Bank in August as Part of its Partnership with Move for Hunger
Once again, Bisson exceeded its monthly goal by delivering 794 lbs of donated food to the Good Shepherd Food Bank in August as part of its partnership in the Move for Hunger program.
Since partnering with Move for Hunger in March, Bisson has collected and delivered over 2,200 lbs of donated food, the equivalent of nearly 1,700 meals, to The Good Shepherd Food Bank for distribution to Maine’s neediest in Greater Portland, Lewiston, Brunswick and Maines Rural areas. Move for Hunger is a nationwide non-profit corporation comprised of approximately 150 moving companies. Our mission is to collect unopened, non-perishable, donated food from moving customers which would otherwise be discarded during the move process, consolidate donations in our Westbrook warehouse and make monthly deliveries to The Good Shepherd Food Bank.
Our August delivery was made possible by a generous donation from one or our commercial clients. Maine ranks 9th in the nation for food insecurity.
